"SO SHELLI" CHALLENGE

Shelli Gardner is the CoFounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! and I've decided to take one her challenges... The Colour Creations Challenge. Shelli suggested that we choose colours we wouldn't normally use by picking a combination from our new Colour Coach (which I l.o.v.e.!). Because (as you probably know or at least guessed) if left to myself I will use only Old Olive, Regal Rose, and Very Vanilla, I let my husband choose...

Well.... he is very good with colour. He choose the beautiful Artimesia Green (better known as Pear Pizazz in the REAL world) for our living room walls all by himself. But today he was in an English Autumn mood. (Besides Stampin' Up!, our family, and Roger Federer, we also love England...).

English trees change colour in the autumn too, but unlike the bold colours of North American trees, the English trees are much more muted... almost like an antique tapestry...in other words totally gorgeous!

So, how does England fit into the challenge? My husband chose Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, and Tangerine Tango (but there's more..) This posed a problem. I knew immediately which stamp set I would use: Autumn Splendour, but I didn't have any of those colours in ink pads!!! I compromised: Perfect Plum, So Saffron, and Pumpkin Pie. Which brings us back to England in the autumn, and the colours for my challenge (I think...)

Here it is:
I used the new In Colour Peach Parfait ribbon because I thought it worked well there, and I really like how you can fray the ends! My husband requested a retirement card so I incorporated that too. (Retirement is sort of in the autumn of your life, right?!)

The leaves are embossed in gold, and then I sponged the colours over them:
Now I don't know if this combination even qualifies for the Colour Creations Challenge, since it's not directly from the Colour Coach, but I kind of like it anyway. Hope you do too!
